Welcome to the Black Hills Symphony League.... celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2012.
You can be part of the symphony without playing a note.
MissionTo support music within the community and the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra.
League members are all volunteers who support today's Symphony and tomorrow's musicians. The League is a major financial supporter of the Symphony. The group has fun while working shoulder to shoulder on fundraising projects and in other ways to help welcome concert goers to the Symphony events.
The League began in 1982. There are seven charter members who still belong to the League and help in achieving the mission. They are: Jacqueline Allen, Marcia Hill, Haze Pearson, Ethel Rounds, Jewel Tatum, Nancy Thielen and Della Trankle.
Membership is open to anyone wishing to join in the fun. Meetings of the League are at 11:30 a.m. the third Wednesday of each month at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in downtown Rapid City. The chair for membership is Lee Arends (leeare@rushmore.com). The League does not meet in December, June or July.
